- People in attendance were happy to remind others that the alarms turn on around 9:30pm and that our lease only covers until 9pm.
We’d like to request that the door code is changed. – to be actioned by Kevin/Toby - Office bearers introduced to new volunteers/attendees
- Our insurance only covers a maximum of 4 people in the kitchen at any time, and in fact a total of 5 volunteers in total.
If the option is there to cover more volunteers we’d like to investigate that and then compare that to the price. – to be actioned by Kevin/Toby - We are happy to make signs indicating the limit of volunteers in the kitchen – to be actioned by Shahni
- With Mel having stepped down as secretary and as a volunteer they requested that their name no longer be on one of our bank cards. A vote was taken in order to make this official, in line with their request and was unanimous in deciding to replace their name.
It was decided that it made most sense for another signatory to have their name on the card, a secondary vote was taken and Toby’s name will be on this card. It will be held in the possession of the shopping team. - It was once again discussed whether we should accept electronic donations as well as cash. Pay ID was discussed but seemed complicated re phone numbers. Simply providing details for a bank transfer seemed easiest (accompanied by a sign saying we prefer cash, and why). A vote was taken on whether to pursue this, it passed unanimously.
Toby is to follow up with Kevin on whether a description (such as Café Donation) is sufficient as a receipt, as it will show up in the bank statements of both parties. - We wanted to check the progress (if any) of replacing the lockbox for the interior door with a keypad. – to be actioned by Kevin/Toby
- Garden we have some interest in people helping out but need a point person/someone with the knowledge to lead others. An intermittent position, we foresee the garden amounting to monthly working bees but need that know how. We believe Cedryk is still interested in that role, we need to check with him if he is interested and how frequently he thinks the working bees should be – to be actioned by Laina
Garden working bee is to be advertised through our usual channels. - Compost is a bit of a mess. We will make signs for both the kitchen and at the bays to indicate which is in use. – to be actioned by Vicki/Toby
- Kitchen leaders, there has been some issues with not enough people being on for closes and some jobs not getting done. The issue is likely down to not having enough people with the experience or know how to cover each day entirely.
